We knew about DJ from some previous projects before Athelo Group was even founded. When we met up with him in Houston, he was seeking out a partner to form a two-way business relationship with. We saw what a unique personality he had as an up-and-coming soccer freestyler and immediately knew he would be a great athlete to team up with.
When we first took on DJ, he had a collective following of roughly 100k across his social media channels. He knew his craft well but needed help managing his overall brand. While he had a handle on smaller social media deals, he wanted more insight on how to capitalize on larger partnerships with other agents, brands, and companies.
Working collaboratively, DJ and Athelo Group conducted a 360-degree brand development plan. He wanted space to become the best freestyler possible while also building up his unique brand persona. Our goal was to help amplify his voice online. We also helped him come up with his slogan, “What’s kickin’?” and created a logo for his jersey and merchandise.
DJ successfully honed in on his overall messaging, partnerships, and social media strategy with the help of Athelo Group. All of these elements culminated to create the DJ Diveny we all know and love today who has a following of over 2 million across all channels.
DJ hopes to lean into more leadership roles as he moves forward in his career. He’s working on getting involved in more professional coaching and training to teach a younger demographic about the art of freestyle soccer. In the meantime, he will continue growing his presence online while displaying freestyle through his own personal, creative lens.
